First, I didn’t know that over-loaded pickups dragging their beds down the road were described as “squat.” I know that now. So, we’ve got that covered.
And I didn’t know that spring-assists had adjustable air pressure. Just learned that too.
I do know that I have vastly overloaded a number of trailers (check this sick trailer out) and wish I had these on my truck. And, if I did any kind of regular trash-trailer hauling, I’d get them.
Using a spring assist—basically an air pillow to support the leaf springs—can help your vehicle tow more and haul more with a higher degree of safety, says AirLift. Spring assists can also improve ride quality when the truck is loaded and reduce trailer sway. They are full adjustable to varying loads; instructions are provided in the AirLift manual. AirLift also says installation is reasonably straightforward (if you have access to a lift).
The company also offers a premium wireless control.
And the AirLift guy is just weird enough with his double-bit axe that he gets a nod in this post. Check out the video.
