With the roll-cage design of a compact saw but with the specs and features of a larger jobsite saw, Hitachi’s new C10JR saw is worth a close look. It has a direct-drive 15-amp motor with soft start, electric brake, and a no-load speed of 4,500 rpm. The saw comes equipped with a rolling stand with 8-inch rubber all-terrain treaded wheels and folding legs. It also has an integral outfeed arm that extends beyond the back of the saw for additional material support. Tools of the Trade editor Chris Ermides reports that he’s been impressed by the power, accuracy, and cut quality of the saw, which costs $480.
