The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Makita, has announced the recall of 5057KB dust-collecting circular saws

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Makita, has announced the recall of 5057KB dust-collecting circular saws because under certain circumstances the lower blade guard can malfunction and expose the blade. When this happens the blade remains exposed, posing a laceration hazard. There have been no reports of injuries.

The recall applies to 450 units sold in the U.S. Recalled saws include serial numbers 12638-12737, 12978-13027, 13208-13257, 133322-13351, 13376-134505, 13578-13627, 13568-13707 and 13900-13979. If you have one of these saws please discontinue use immediately and contact Makita to schedule a free repair.
