Legends of the Wall

1 MIN READ

One of my favorite things—probably my very favorite come to think of it—about tools are the people who use them.

So as we speed ever forward with Bluetooth tools and cordless everything, there was a time when the 16-inch on-center structures we build and refine today were kind of a new thing. Called “platform framing,” there’s a long history of how we got from the broadax to the 2×4.

And I learned some of it from this guy, Dunk.

If you never got to meet him, he was the Great and Powerful Oz pulling the levers of JLC Live (hope to see you at the next one, by the way).

Dunk won’t be there. But I’ll tell you all about him. The plywood rooster story is particularly good.

Afterthought: This sounds cheesy and I don’t mean it to be. But I genuinely am interested. So, got a legend you think makes the cut? Post on our Facebook or Instagram.
