Hungarian Farmer Builds Working Wooden Car

1 MIN READ

It’s not completely wood, but most of it is, enough that Istvan Puskas has more to fear from termites than rust.

Istvan is lives in the village of Tiszaors and says he built the car because he loves to work with wood. The frame, axles, and gears are made from wood. The engine came from a Fiat and the steering wheel from a Mercedes. The engine, of course, it metal.

His wife is down with her husband’s hobby because she’d rather he be in the shop than hanging out at the local pub. But he has obviously been there at least once – to get the wooden beer barrel he used for a gas tank.
