David Frane got to play with Hitachi’s new cordless nailers—a brad gun and two finish nailers, each powered by a higher capacity compact battery—at the recent STAFDA Show in Atlanta and was told a cordless framing gun is scheduled for release in the summer of 2017.
“Like many newer battery-powered nailers, Hitachi’s do not contain flywheels and instead rely on a mechanism that mimics the operation and drive characteristics of a pneumatic,” Frane reports. Firing these tools “feels like shooting a pneumatic, with fast cycling and no ramp-up before shots.”
