Festool Bluetooth Converter Kit for Dust Extractors

For just $80, you can make a Festool CT dust extractor turn on remotely without ever touching the vacuum.

Festool had a couple of new products available at its booth at the JLC Live trade show last week, including a plug-and-play Bluetooth setup for its CT dust extractors. The system, which includes a remote control, revolves around a small plate that makes a CT dust extractor instantly Bluetooth-enabled. The Bluetooth module plate replaces the cover plate that sits on the front of the CT dust extractor just next to the tool-operated power outlet. Once the Bluetooth module is installed, the vac can be turned on cordlessly either by the included remote or by a cordless power tool equipped with the new 18V Bluetooth battery.

The converter kit (called the Remote Control CT-F I/M-Set) will be available April 2. It includes a CT reception module (for CT 26, 26, and 48) and a CT-F I remote and will cost $80. An extra remote will run $45.

The Bluetooth-enabled battery will be available April 2 this year in either a 5.2-Ah version ($110) or 6.2 Ah ($125).
