A Well-Balanced and Powerful Cordless Recip Saw

1 MIN READ

Jeremy Kassel, owner of Kassel Construction (@kasselconstruction) in Glenmont, N.Y., has been testing the new Bosch Cordless Reciprocating Saw. This saw, he reports, has a unique design. Unlike a traditional reciprocating saw with a perpendicular rear handle, the Bosch relies on a longitudinal pistol grip design. The battery mounts behind the handle, which balances the entire tool.

This short, well-balanced design allows for one-handed use of the tool: It enabled Kassel to place a free hand on sheathing off-cuts, for example, as he was making the cuts. He found this be particularly valuable: “I didn’t need to rely on a fellow carpenter or helper to handle dropping sections of sheathing after they were cut.” Good design, combined with the power of the Core 6.3 battery, Kassel reports, “make this tool a serious contender in the reciprocating-saw market.”
