Repairing Wooden Fences

In this classic JLC article, a contractor explains how he installs wooden fence posts so that they won’t rot. The key, according to author John Wilder, is to keep soil from contacting the post, especially in the first 6 inches of soil, which he does by completely encasing the post in concrete from the base all the way up to an inch or so above the soil line.
