Makita Cordless Rear Handle Circular Saw

Makita released a new cordless circular saw at the show. The brushless 36V rear-handled saw is the first of its kind. While it may look, feel, and act like a worm drive, you’ll see by the size of the motor that it’s far from it. I spent a little time using the saw—ripping ¾-in. plywood and 2×10 framing material. It doesn’t kick like a worm drive and has a nice soft-start trigger. No pricing was available; it’s expected to be released this spring. www.makitatools.com
