Insane Home-Made Milling Machine

1 MIN READ

It’s crazy enough to build your own 3D-milling machine, but to build it out of LEGOs is downright insane.

Arthur Sacek lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and works for Zoom Education for Life. Part of his job involves inventing things made out of LEGO – which makes me wonder what other really cool jobs my high school counselor failed to tell me about.

Back to Sacek’s milling machine – except for the bit, everything in it is from the LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 building system. In the video below you can see it machine an incredibly life-like statue of a head out of foam. I’ll admit, it’s not the same as milling something out of wood or steel – but what do you expect from a machine that’s made out of plastic?
