Super Storm Harvey is a human story first, but from the start, the saga of this record-breaking storm’s impact on the built environment was brewing. As it develops, it is drawing sharp attention to the the nation’s construction labor shortage, as Justin Deffenbacher reports in JLC‘s sister publication, Concrete Construction.

Before crews can even begin to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey, they were hit with an early blow. New data released by the Associated General Contractors of America shows that the labor needed to repair the billions of dollars worth of damage isn’t there.
